PRESS RELEASE – 14 September 2020
Smith Agri international is thrilled to formally welcome Murray Gmeiner to our growing dynamic
team.
Murray Gmeiner’s appointment in the position of Authorised Representative (WA / NT) further
expands Smith Agri International’s reach throughout Australia, with Murray being responsible for our
growing engagements with corporate and multigenerational farming families located throughout
Western Australia and the Northern Territory, Australia.
Murray’s impressive background and experience of dealing with institutional-grade Agricultural,
Horticultural and Timberland assets includes carbon project implementation on behalf of these sectors
which compliments perfectly our teams 30+ years direct face to face ‘on the ground’ experience and
our commitment to transparent engagement with leading farming practices and sophisticated
investors.
Murray is a Nuffield Scholar Alumni, has achieved a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Land
Valuation) and an MBA from the University of Western Australia; has intimate knowledge of
agriculture and corporate agri-financing and investing. “With my previous work in the international
agri-investment space, I have worked for many years on developing and contributing to the successful
allocation of EUR150 million and USD40 million into new assets as well as increasing investment into
current assets to achieve optimal performance and scale” says Murray.
Smith Agri International prides itself on largely working off-market in support of our clients. “Rarely will
you see a full-page advertising spread when it comes to our market offerings which is a position
strongly supported by both sophisticated buyers and sellers”, said David Smith, Director of Smith Agri
International.
Smith Agri International introduces ‘institutional-grade’ asset opportunities directly to international and
domestic institutional investors who have the capacity and capability to complete transactions that
align with our farming families long term aspirations. “Our holistic offering targets the delivery of
solutions, not problems in protection of multigenerational assets, brand and established supply-chain
markets.
Smith Agri International currently has over AUD$300m of institutional-grade opportunities it looks
forward to transacting in coming months, with an additional AUD$100m of ‘of-like’ assets under
consideration.
Smith Agri International Pty Ltd is a specialist Agribusiness Transactions & Advisory team, licenced throughout
Australia as a professional real estate organisation specialising in the Agricultural / Horticultural / Timberland
sectors on behalf of sophisticated institutional, asset management, industry, family offices and high-net-worth
individuals.
